Swainson Holness, Co-Founder of KobaltPS, melds a dynamic career in software development and design with a profound passion for technological innovation and research. With a robust technical skill set encompassing REST API, ReactJS, Firebase, NodeJs, NestJS, GraphQL, MySQL, PostgresSQL, PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, jQuery, JAVA, Python, and more, Swainson excels in integrating foundational technologies with cutting-edge advancements.

In his engagement with Akomplice/Fusion360, Swainson exhibited exceptional problem-solving skills. He pioneered a user interface tool for dental implant selection using PHP and JQuery, revolutionizing the customer experience. His innovative use of SVGs and a custom JavaScript call stack for AJAX requests underlined his commitment to efficient and effective solutions.

Collaborating closely with the Vice President of Glymedplus.com, Swainson played a pivotal role in revamping the company’s web presence. His contributions in daily scrums and frontend development not only modernized their website but also aligned it with contemporary web standards, emphasizing web 3.0 capabilities.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Swainson is deeply committed to research, particularly in computer science and mathematics. His explorations in algorithmic experiments, like Reinforcement Learning, are a testament to his dedication to advancing knowledge in these fields.

John Leone

President, Co-Founder and Managing Partner

John is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Kobalt Professional Services. With over 40 years of collective experience in program and project management, engineering, and infrastructure development and retrofit services, John leads and defines the strategic direction for Kobalt, managing all of its mission-critical and high-tech processes.

Before founding Kobalt, John spent 14 years as Director and VP of the Mission Critical and High-Tech division at URS/AECOM, a Fortune 500 company. From offices located in Park City, Utah, he spearheaded initiatives supporting client data center and high-tech sort center infrastructure builds across the US, Americas, EMEA, and APAC regions with combined project values exceeding $70 billion.

Prior to his role at URS/AECOM, John spent more than 26 years in the Northeast, working from offices in New York and Connecticut. A majority of this time was dedicated to the design, build, construct and retrofit of client infrastructure for various companies, where John served as a project manager, consulting engineer, contractor, and business owner. His extensive experience includes working with MEP, CSA, and all facets of New York City and New England’s high-rise buildings, manufacturing facilities, communications and data centers, and hospitality and medical infrastructure.

John holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Physics – Electrical/Atomic Nuclear from the Georgia Institute of Technology and SUNY Oneonta, respectively.

Outside of work, John serves as treasurer for his local HOA board and was formerly engaged in local non-profit organizations supporting outdoor activities. John also plays the saxophone with several Utah and New York based music groups, and is an avid mountain biker, skier, and kiteboarder who loves to hike and explore the great outdoors.

Bob Lindsay

Sr. Data Center Construction Manager, Mission Critical & High-Tech.

Bob is a Senior Construction Manager who is an integral part and highly contributes to the success of Kobalt Professional Services. Together with John, they lead the onsite professional services team for our Mission Critical and High-Tech division, focusing on hyperscale data center infrastructure.  

Before Kobalt, Bob has been working in the engineering and construction industry for over 48 years. He has worked on a variety of projects ranging from nuclear power to residential housing and has been involved in the construction of two state capitols and data centers.

Bob has worked for several companies throughout his career, including Dominion Virginia Power for 20 years, URS/AECOM Engineering and Construction for 16 years, Catalytic Engineering and Construction for 4 years, and Nycom Laboratory Equipment for 4 years.

One of Bob’s most notable assignments was with URS in Sellafield, England. The assignment was part of the nuclear decommissioning of a former weapons facility and the production of nuclear fuel. URS was involved in staffing and managing this facility with an annual budget of $3 billion and involved over 10,000 employees and contractors. Bob’s role was the Head of Planning with responsibility for the planning staff of the owner, which was a department of 125 employees. His staff tracked and reported on the current and future projects, some extending out for 25 years. Their reports were directed to Nuclear Governance for the UK Government.

Bob is primarily a Sr. Construction Manager and consultant and has a wealth of experience and knowledge that facilitates his value to clients. As a “gray beard” in his experience in England, he embraced opportunities to share his experience and nurture younger employees, providing a wealth of value for clients and fellow employees.
